Limited View

Job was not accused by God of committing a particular sin, he was called to conviction for having a limited view of God.

How many times do we put God in a box or create a narrative forgetting that He “laid the earth’s foundation,” “marked off it’s dimensions,” “stretched a measuring line across it,” “laid its cornerstone – while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted with joy.”?

“Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, when the clouds where made its garment and wrapped in thick darkness, when the limits where fixed for it, and its doors and bars where set in place.  Who said, ‘This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt’?”

“Who gave orders to the morning, or shows the dawn its place, that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it?”

It is the same God who knew us and knew our children before they were ever formed in the womb.  Every hair on their head and every breath of their days.  It is the same God of miracles, yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Nothing is a surprise to God.  Not even the death of my son.  He was God’s first on loan to me as a gift for a season.

Thank you Lord that you are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  Forgive us for putting you in a box with our misperceptions and narrow mindedness.  Lord let us live in the power that lives in you.  Let our vision and view of you expand like the depths of the ocean across the land.  Lord let us see your hand in everything we do.  You, Lord, are still a God of miracles.  Let us see miracles, but most importantly, let us trust in your plan and your purpose even when the shattered overwhelms our heart, even when life hurts, even when we don’t understand, even when it means walking through the valley of the shadow of death.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Much love,

Chrissy
