Grief and Joy

We often find ourselves holding our breath as we walk through grief.  We wonder where God is in the midst of our pain and hurt.

Dear Yellowstone,

As I pushed my body to new heights wandering your trails, you reminded me to breathe.

As I carried my grief along your rocky trails, you reminded me to pick up my feet and keep moving.

As I stood on the edge of your waterfalls and listened to the roar of water, you reminded me of the power of my God and the Holy Spirit.

As the tears rolled down my face and mixed with the midst around me, you revealed a beautiful rainbow, reminding me of God’s promises and filling me with peace and hope.

Thank you for welcoming me into your majesty and hosting me as I began my journey of learning to live in the balance of carrying great grief and leaning into great joy.

Much love,

Chrissy

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 15:13
